Faith Girlz Bible - New International Version

This is a gorgeous Bible ! I wish I had a daughter who I can give this to. But there are many teens in my church and I know one particularly who would love this. So when I saw this, I knew who I'd give it to.

This is NOT the King James Version. This is the New International Version which is more easy to read and follow. The text is in purple and the titles are in red. There are small blurbs or text box with scriptures, inspiring little phrases which make it more interesting. I read a NIV bible and often find the little extra phrases here and there, very encouraging.

This Bible is a pretty looking Bible and does look stylish for a teen to carry to church, bible study , daily reading  even in her own room.

Finally, it does not matter what Bible we read or if it is pink or blue. God will speak to us through the pink, blue, black text only when we come with a heart that is ready to receive.

Falling in love with the word of God and letting it minister to us is really important. If a child can develop the habit of sitting at the feet of God even for five minutes, that is time well spent.

This is a beautiful Bible and I recommend it with all my heart for any girl.

Some more great books for kids from Zonderkidz!

A sticker and activity book featuring the classic art from The Beginner’s Bible!
My 7yr old was not too interested in this book. It is geared for younger children. Hands-on learning about creation makes it a very interesting learning experience. It is an inexpensive book and can be bought without much thought for travel, a small reward or a gift.
The wonders and joys of nature come to life through age-appropriate puzzles, activity pages, and stickers in The Beginner's Bible Wild About Creation Sticker and Activity Book- featuring classic art and simply written content from The Beginner's Bible.

My son loved the book about the Good Samaritan. He sat and read it right from the first to the last page.It kept his attention and vibrant colours made it a pleasurable reading experience. I asked him to tell me the story and he was able to describe the characters, place and the plot. Very well written and will make a great addition to a home library.

Six Hours One Friday by Max Lucado

I read this book during some of the toughest times in my life. God reminded me of the power of the cross. I was not only encouraged but knowing about how powerful those "six hours" were that it changes everything now and will continue to change the future.

Death lost it's power. Death has no power in my life as I am not afraid to face it because of what God has done for me in His mercy. I thought my life had lost its meaning. But I learnt that God gives meaning to my life through his death and resurrection. Nothing else can take that meaning away. But God's power can take the unwanted meaning that I put into my life.

This is a great book that will inspire you to realize how much God loves you and to what extent he went to demonstrate that love for you.

Try this book, you won;t be disappointed.

Marina Slayton's "Be the Best Mom You Can Be" - One of the best parenting books

Of all the parenting books I have read, this is the second book that I have found to strike a chord with me. This is a practical book. It does not go on and on about child psychology and how we have evolved as adults. Marina gets straight to the point by getting to the root of parenting - love.
I found the 1:10 rule to be quite a good tool and I will apply it sincerely from now on.

There are numerous real life examples and it made me think how I can avoid them from happening in my child's life.Marina made a good decision by including the importance of choosing good schools.I read the book straight until the end. You will find it hard to put it down if you are thirsty for good parenting advise. I would say there are many good parenting books andthis is one of the best books you can get your hands on.

However as a busy, working mom I would have loved to see more content geared towards working moms.I would tend to agree that working moms have a higher stress level and could use some good advise.Until then I will continue to  use "patience" and "love" as the tool  :)
