Laying it out: Mohawk Home Rug Review ( + Giveaway) 1/31 ( US/ CAN)

Just before the holidays, I tossed two of the rugs we've had straight into the garbage. No regrets. I noted the brand so that I will never buy them again. Wanna know why?

- Horrible piling.
- So hard to clean even with vacuum.

Why did I still keep it? Didn't find a better one! Folks, it's a New Year. Time for a fresh, clean start and it starts with my floor!

The fab folks at Mohawk kindly offered me the chance to try their Home Rug. I said "YES, please!" after I saw many raves about these special Mohawk rugs. Before I begin, I thought it will be nice to know a little bit about the history behind the name.

Mohawk Home  prides in being the largest manufacturer and distributor of Area & Accent Rugs, Indoor/Outdoor Rugs, Kitchen & Bath Rugs, Doormats and rug pads. Mohawk has been around since the 1800 and has evolved to be a successful business because of their high quality products that carefully incorporate styles, colours and texture to bring us the best rugs. All their rugs are made in the USA. Mohawk also takes extreme care to ensure that their products are safe for the environment and are made with sustainable materials. This is a business that cares about customers, product and the earth we live in. Great business model!

Since we live in an apartment, space is a constraint. I had a small rug which served more like an accent rug. I needed a rug that would not only enhance the look of the room but also where my son can sit and build and do his things.

I chose the Watamu Home Printed Rug- $142, size  5' x 8' which has a contemporary pattern. I love the zebra stripes sort of design. It is not black and white as you imagine it since I mentioned about the zebra stripes. It is butter color and brown color combination.

I have vacuumed it many times and it is very easy to clean and maintain despite my son using it to play on it. It gives a fresh, neat look once vacuumed. It looks a lot more brighter in daylight and when the light is right above the carpet. White light will make it look even better.

I like the textured base as it makes it non-slippery. We even had a play date at my house and both kids spent a lot of time on the carpet as it was soft, warm and cozy.

It definitely is a good quality rug and is so unlike any other rug I have had before. I am very happy with the piling - on the thicker side, but not very thick.

The border is nicely secured with tight threads and I like it without a real color border. That's what gives it a modern look.

It is constructed of durable nylon and is both beautiful and functional. The rug will provide warmth and color to complement your decor and complete the look of your room.

Printed on a textured base
100 percent nylon
Easy care and cleaning
Made in the USA

Here are some of the rugs I have set my eyes on for other rooms of my home:

Elegant and pleasing.
Fun, lively and modern.
Love this darling looking squares.
Room size rug
Doormat with a warm message.
Rug pad

Mohawk Rugs can be found at many retailers across US and Canada. Mohawk Rugs also come with matching area rugs and accent rugs to compliment the looks.

Now is your chance to win a 5' x 8' Mohawk Rug of your choice worth $149! You can choose your rug here.
