It comes in pieces and it has to be built into a tower. My son really enjoyed that part with daddy. It was a fun activity to build a castle. The instructions came along with the product and it was easy to follow. My son did not show much interest in the extra pieces but was just thrilled with the castle and coloring it.
The tower comes with a free set of water colors and a brush. Since the castle was pretty big my son took several days to color on it. Maybe a smaller version of the castle could have been easier to paint on. But older kids will have a lot of fun building and painting it as per their imagination.
