Seventh Generation Diaper Donation Program

So, I finally decided to break the silence.

After dealing with 2 weeks of my son being ill I was really ill for 1 week with bacterial infection and a high fever that took long to come down. All this with hubby working in another city and I was handling things alone. We planned to move to another city and well that still is under much prayers and thought. We were able to spend some family time together for Thanksgiving and it was beautiful! Being a mom can be hard - physically, mentally and emotionally. Having gone through a tough time recently, made me think of other moms who are also facing hardships financially. With a bundle of joy in their hands, moms cannot but help smile when they look at the toothless grin from their precious baby. No matter what the situation.

Raising a baby is not only hard but it is also getting expensive. I have appreciated the help that so many of our friends have poured when I had my son and I always felt so grateful when I received diapers. It is something you cannot do without and especially in winter.

Seventh Generation is aiming to reach their goal of giving away up to 240,000 diapers to 40 shelters in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. This means a donation of up to $160,000 in diaper value to a charitable cause that rarely sees corporate assistance.

I was chosen to be a part of the Seventh Generation Diaper donation program and was sent a few packs of their wonderful diapers to donate to a charity of my choice. The first thought that crossed my mind was the church I go to. They are always reaching out to the community and every Thanksgiving they serve a delicious meal for the community to let them know that they are loved and any family that simply wants to be together for Thanksgiving can head over for the meal and have a lovely family time at the table! Volunteers do a great job of putting this event together. Since my son was sick, I quickly met with the church secretary and explained to her about the program. She said that the diapers will be given to moms in need as they work with such a group. It was a great feeling to be a part of this  generous program organized by Seventh Generation.

I am convinced by their product quality ( my son had a viral rash and guess what we used safely? Seventh Generation diapers) and glad that few other moms had the opportunity to use these great quality diapers.

I want to thank Seventh Generation for this event and for being so thoughtful of a baby's need and extending their helping hand to moms who really need an extra serving of help.

Mommies, I encourage you to hop over to see what's brewing at the community of Seventh Generation! Let us show our support for a brand that has gone above and beyond just selling their products. Reaching out and giving back to the community.

Seventh Generation Prize Pack ( R+G) - 9/16 ( CAN)

Seventh Generation is the nation’s leading brand of household and personal care products that help protect human health and the environment.
I had a wonderful opportunity to try some products from Seventh Generation. This is an awesome brand that pro-actively considers the impact that products could have on the environment and carries a line of products that families would love to use at homes. All their products are environment friendly and free from toxins that are harmful to humans and the earth. To quote something in a nutshell from the website:

"We are always evaluating how to reduce their environmental impact, increase performance and safety, and create a more sustainable supply chain."

By choosing not to process with chlorine, Seventh Generation helps reduce the overall amount of chlorinated toxins released into the environment.

 I chose to review the following products and love them all! I'd like to say a little bit more than that as you just gotta know why I recommend them. My toddler likes to do EVERYTHING I do and especially when cleaning, he finds that mommy tells him to stay away when she cleans certain things. Why can't he clean what mommy is cleaning? Now since we have started using more and more eco-friendly products, mommy and son get along just fine while cleaning!

Baby wipes is a "rescue hero" for many situations! Not only do I use them for my toddler's bottoms, but also to clean their face, hands, nose..the list can be endless when you have a child. Considering their limitless uses, it turns out that we can still use them without having to worry about the chemicals in the wipes that makes skin dry.

What chemicals could wipes possibly contain?

Some other brands that label their products "Fragrance Free", "Unscented", or "Perfume Free" may still contain small amounts of fragrances called masking agents, used to hide unpleasant odors from other ingredients. Masking agents are chemicals used to cover up another chemical color or fragrance and are not typically disclosed on ingredient lists.

Seventh Generation wipes are:
  • FREE of chlorine processing
  • Free of fragrances, dyes and alcohol
  • Do not contain masking agents
 Seventh Generation Diapers have the following features:
  • Premium Absorbency
  • Free of Chlorine Processing
  • Free of Fragrances & Latex
  • Free of Petroleum Based Lotions
  • Hypoallergenic
These diapers will be great especially if a child has sensitive skin. Though I did not have the chance to use it on my son when he was an infant, I would highly recommend it  for newborns as they are so fresh in this world and these diapers would be such a nice thing to have. Since they are hypoallergenic, they are gentle on the baby skin. My son still is in size 5-6 diapers but I so look forward to using their training pants!
 Seventh Generation non-toxic & biodegradable household cleaners are a safe & e ective way to clean your kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedrooms and windows without creating harsh fumes.

Although this Toilet Bowl Cleaner does not disinfect, it is the best cleaner I have used. I would just buy it again because of the non-toxic nature and no fumes that I have to inhale. My son always likes to hang around with me when I clean, so this is perfect as it is safe to use. It cleans so well and I leave it overnight after scrubbing and the bowl looks as new!

I really love the scent of the liquid and I know that my skin is safe as I use this. My son also loves to clean with me so he is also happy to use it without causing any harm to his skin. I also found out from the website that this liquid can be safely use to clean baby bottles. So you have more reasons to buy Seventh Generation products!

Seventh Generation Products : Review

Do you wear a mask when you use those strong chemicals to clean? Do you hold your breath while cleaning your toilet bowl with a strong cleaner ?

No more wearing a mask or holding your breath.....Seventh Generation believes that no one should hold their breath while they're cleaning. By choosing non-toxic products, you create a safe environment for you and your family to grow up in.

My son who likes to follow me everywhere usually is forcefully sent out when I clean the bathroom as I do not want him anywhere near the cleaning products. Most of the cleaning products available across North America, I have to admit, are very, very strong and unsuitable for little ones. I cannot imagine children inhaling dangerous fumes from cleaning products.

Seventh Generation got its inspiration to produce not only safe but environmentally friendly products that everyone can use without hesitations." In our every deliberation we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations"...this is the Seventh Generation belief.

I had the opportunity to review some of the products from Seventh Generation.

Chlorine Free Baby Diapers have soft, cloth like comfort which is best suited for a baby as well as an active toddler. They come 6 sizes and check out their coupons for some savings on these diapers! I used them on my toddler and there were no leaks nor any signs of discomfort. It has my " mommy's seal of approval " !

Some of the features of the chlorine free diapers:

* Wood pulp processed without chemicals containing chlorine
* Hypoallergenic
* Fragrance and latex free
* Premium fit and absorbency
* Has stretchy leg gathers, which means it allows free & unrestricted movement and resealable closure tabs ( helpful when you hit potty training!).

All disposable diapers, including Seventh Generation’s, rely on man-made materials to deliver the high-level performance that parents expect of modern diapers. These materials are mostly petroleum-derived and are not renewable, which adversely impacts the environmental footprint associated with these products. At Seventh Generation, we are pleased to offer an alternative that is not bleached with chemicals containing chlorine, and are working hard to further improve the sustainability of our diaper products.

About Chlorine
The wood pulp used in these diapers has not been processed with chemicals containing chlorine. This prevents dangerous chlorinated toxins from being released into the environment through the pulp production process.
This is an awesome product to remove that stubborn soap scum and leave it as white as snow!

I don't always use fabric softener and use it only for certain clothes. As again, I do not feel the need to make my clothes smell artificially fragrant by using chemicals. This is a canola-based softener that makes your laundry naturally fluffy, cuddly, and static-free. Add to your final rinse cycle when machine washing. Use less Natural Fabric Softener when hand washing.
