I was overjoyed when I received a set of preschooler games for review from Hasbro. My little boy seems to be moving away from certain toys as they do not interest his developing brain anymore. He looks for more challenging games and when I showed him Monkey Dunk, he immediately developed a liking for it.
Set-up is very easy and hardly takes any time.It includes:
ELEFUN popper, 16 monkeys, gameboard with backdrop and tray, 20 banana tokens, lily pad blocker, instructions.
We skipped the tokens which are the bananas and just aimed the monkeys which are designed to jump and land, into the cup shaped trays. The trays just go in the box in which the game sits. For children 4+ yrs the token collection will be make the game more competitive.Whoever lands more monkeys gets more tokens and wins.
We take out the game and play everyday after dinner and my son squeals every time he lands a monkey. When he doesn't land a monkey, he simply takes them and puts it straight in the tray! Easy win!!
It is surely a simple and exciting game as it gives focus for the brain to aim right and also involves physical activity. It is also good for improving hand, eye coordination skills when played often. It also has a backdrop made with cardboard that gives it a look of a jungle. We also talked about different animals in the jungle and it was a great conversation!
Monkey Dunk retails for $12.99 at Toys R Us, Canada.
